CD Cover So Far

This is what i have done to our CD cover so far, we just need to add the name to the spine and add the tracts to the back so we have nearly finished the front and back

Website Design (Background)

We are going to try a leaf background that we took from the CD cover and going to try a brick layer and test out if it'll look good or really noticeable. When we was doing this we were thinking of having a naturalistic website with leafs as the background but after trying many combinations we decided not to continue with this idea and change it to a black background as it would make anything we add onto it more noticeable. And it would to busy and may take the viewers eye of the content and on to the background.

OUR font

After a class rate we have decided to use the font Betty Noir. We settled on this as we feel it's a cross between her new album 'Ceremonials' and her past album 'Lungs'.  We also decided on this font as many others that we wanted don't include the + symbol in the 'Florence + the machine' title.

This is our idea's for now, however this may change after more shoots.

We intend to choose at least one photo from our glam photo shoot that will be used in our video in the dream sequence.

Contact Sheet of first shoot

These are the photos we took from our first shoot ( which was the mini introduction to our video). Some of these may form our CD cover however we are unsure as we have more shoots to do so we may be able to capture some better pictures.

First shoot

Here is our first shoot in editing. We filmed in a woods where we took pictures for our website and CD cover. For the shooting we only shot our introduction. We did this because we only need the introduction to be in the woods and also we wanted to get a look of actress in full costume and how we intend for the rest of our music video to look.

We were happy with our first shooting as it went to plan and our actress did well and was comfortable in her environment. We thought that we got some good shots form it and experience and knowledge for future shooting. 

Here is our final introduction so far. There are some shots that we intend to change like the spinning shots and we need top smooth out some jumps and make some shots shorter in length.

Florence Video Review

This is a new video from Florence's new Album. This video is very different from all her other videos as it looks very religious as it is set mainly in a church with choir boys. It looks very biblical but with the Florence twist with blue men chasing her and voodoo dolls causing her to fall from a skyscarper

Make up practice

After our make-up research, Leanne came up with this make up design using different eye shadows to blend and then add eyeliner, mascara and a touch of glitter eyeliner and a gem in each of the corner of her eyes. We both liked this as the dress we had matched this.

This is the bird mask we bought for our bird and we have wing as  aswell and our bird will be wearing all black and we will blacken out the eyes as you can see the eyes and its very noticeable everytime i look at this image my eyes are drawn to the eyes in the photo.

Shot List

For shot 25, it's a 17 second shot which will be filled with 4/5 shots with cross dissolve effect and other special effects. The shots will be of our actress singing, dancing, throwing glitter in the air and dancing with out bird.

Textual Analysis

This is my analysis of a previous video from Florence the dog days. This helped with idea's for our video with having a natural setting for some of our film.

New Florence Video

This is her newest video from her new album. This has some of the effects that we wanted for or 17 second shot with the mirror effect. Her costume in this is also something we wanted to use. It's not like her normal videos as its mainly performance based.

Colours, Fonts, and layout

For the colours of the website we were thinking oranges, peach, pale pinks, golden yellows and whites both the match the style of the video and also to link and match the colours of blogger. We thought these colours would go well as it also matches the type of lighting were using in the video as well. For the font we went for something simular to Florence and the machines,there are two possible choices in Microsoft word called: Harrigton and Mistral. We think these fonts will look good becasue there script like and curvy. 

For images were going to be using a picture of florence and the machine and use images from the music video and CD. This is very typical of Flrence and the mahcine as she uses her album covers again and agian to both promote herslef and the album. As you can see in the photo above on her wbsite it has the albums main song video and the picture for her most recent album. We were thinking to do something simular to keep the consistancy and to help promote them. ( see sheet in folder)

Also on the website we would like to include gig dates and any comments form the artist to the fans like 'Nottingham was amazing thatnks everyone for coming'. Tjis will aslo have links to the venues sites to book tickets like, Rockcity and The Capital Arena. Will aslo have any inmformation on tours and possible dates.

On the right hand side of the page there will be photos that people can click and the main photo at the top will change into a photo displayer. We saw this on 30 seconds to Mars' home site where there is a different photo each time you click on the website:

here you can see there is differnt photos when you go on the website again. This is something we would like but instead of changing it each time you re visit the website, we want to make it into a Photo veiwer where if you hover over the picture the view will change and you can select the phot yourself. The selection will be off Live; concert photos, small gigs, Photoshoot and pistures for the albums. including the actual CD.

We also want a part on our website where it has information on the band like when they started, how they got together and finding her image. We also want to include album release dates and all information about the album like new songs and recent updates. This will be a news box.

lastly we want to include youtube and twitter. youtube will link to all of florence and the mahcines songs both live and actual video performances. Finally we would like to include a Twitter link to go straight to Florence and the machines Twitter lead. We go this idea from the Bilborough home page.

Another thing we really liked was the borders that florence and the machine use on her website. This ties everything together and makes sure its easy to spot what your looking for, in a sufficient manner. It also ties in Florence and the machines theme as she uses this bordering effect on her twitter page, her blog and her CD. 

Possible songs

Before choosing Florence ansd the machine we had debates on what song to do. We had many ideas and each one of us had a song in mind that we wanted to do. Mine was daydreamer by Adele and Conor's: Christina Perri The loney. We both had ideas for both but couldtn decide which to do so we scrapped both ideas and went searching for a good storyline first. We then tried to find a song. There were many artist and bands that were considered; Bruno Mars, Florence and the machine, Adele, Ok Go, Kaci Brown, Rhianna, Pink, Jessie J, Amy Mcdonald, Ed Sheeran, Save Ferris and Kate Nash. Adfter looking into the artsist and past videos we felt that we wanted to do a Flroence and the machien song and found Bird song that doesnt have a video.

We felt this would be a good song as it had a storyline built into the song which menat we could put our own interpretation on to it.

CD Cover - Digi pack

Florence and the Machine has only one album thats been released and at the moment in the progress of another one. The exsisting Album is called LUNGs and we've decided to do a simular feel to it. Here are the pictures for LUNGS:

For the front cover we were going to have a shot from the dream sequence in the forest, so she wil be surrounded by nature, simular to the existing front cover but becasue it's going to be a shot from the dream sequence it it's goiung to be of her danicng around in mid motion rather than a still photoshoot.

On the inside cover on the left again were going to have another picture but this time form the reality side of things in our video again a performance shot. We think that this picture will constrast the one on the fornt and show a mix of sides to Florence and the machine as she has a variety of looks.

On the CD its self were thinking of having four or five birds with there beaks pointing towards the middle of the CD facign inwards and with there wings spread out touching the next one.  Another idea was taking apicture of differnt coloured or just black feathers laid on top of each other and have that on the CD.

For the back picture we wanted to continue the theme that Florence and the Machine do. Becasue were doing Bird song were calling the album that. Like the existing album the picture on the back is of a lung and the actual CD so to continue this theme we are doing the same by having a bird on the CD ( or feathers) and on the back cover. We relly liked the x ray effect of the lungs and the arrows that point ot various points of the lungs with a number on and then at the bottom having the lists of songs with the numner in front of each title to show where that song goes in the lungs.

We wont really need any props as most of them are just pictures of either the girl or a bird.
