Lighting for our video

In our video we have two different feels to it. One part is reality and another is a dream state where the girl falls asleep and then becomes a bird. We decided that because the dream scene is more dramatic it needs dramatic lighting to add to the atmosphere thats intended. For that reason we will be using shadows, 3 point lighting and smoke effects, with a possible color gel on top to show the difference between the dream and real life. We have taken influence from one of Florence and the Machines past videos 'You've got the love':

As you can see, especially at the start of the video with the different lighting, back side and front coming in at different times it creates different shadows. Also the way the camera Tracks around the artist to create different shadows to form around Florence is also something that we like.

For the Real life lighting we have decided to go for airy natural lighting with a bright light effect.

This is a screen shot from The scripts video - For the First time as it uses natural lighting but to make it brighter they have used whites and light grey the help the light reflect of and seem brighter.

Another Video that inspired our lighting was Taylor Swifts - Fifteen video:
Even though it's not as bright as the other video it still uses an almost natural lighting but this time with a yellow color effect on it which is also something that we liked.

Here Kip Moore- Somethin' Bout a truck is a little more golden compared to The Scripts video. This is more sunrise, it's not as golden as Taylor Swift and not as Bright as The Script.

An existing video that Florence and the Machine has with the lighting that we would like to include in our own video is Rabbit heart:

It's almost got an Alice in Wonderland feel to the lighting and looks like a fairy-tale. We thought that because our video is quirky and different something like this would be good for our lighting to show its not really reality and telling a story of the song.
